Welcome,

My name is Leah Talipeau. I am a highly sensitive woman and mother who is passionate about holistic nourishment and matrescence

From as early as I can remember, I have been fascinated by people. My early years were spent close to my mother’s side, helping her prepare food, watching intently as she took care of vulnerable people in our community, and learning what it meant to find value in the role of mother and homemaker.

Growing up, I never doubted that motherhood would be a central focus of my life. I didn’t realise however, the complete upheaval matrescence would have on my own life and purpose.

After studying Psychology in my early years, I went on to become a youth worker and worked with homeless young people, seeing firsthand the devastating impact a lack of support and community has on families & individuals.

When I prepared for my first baby, I was fresh-faced and enthusiastic about motherhood. I had high hopes and some unrealistic expectations. Encountering birth trauma had a dramatic impact on my nervous system and early motherhood experience, affecting my relationships with those around me.

By the time I was pregnant with my second-born, I was feeling much more settled and confident in my mothering role and rediscovering other parts of me that brought joy. I had a strong interest in holistic nutrition and saw how simple dietary and lifestyle changes were positively affecting our family.

It was only when we encountered a number of health issues with our youngest child that my own health started to deteriorate. Despite my passion for wellness, I felt lost and the stress was overwhelming. I knew intuitively that motherhood requires a lot of guidance and support, but sadly convinced myself that I was struggling because I was inadequate.

Eventually I experienced a debilitating health crisis that forced me to pay attention to what my body was desperately trying to convey: I was malnourished physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.

I began a journey of holistic healing. The truth is, it wasn’t easy. I fumbled my way through various modalities, searching for “the thing” that would heal me. I leaned on my faith and discovered that healing was an inside job. Support was necessary, but ultimately I had to do the work towards healing. I realised each component of healing is deeply interconnected, from physical to mental, emotional and spiritual.

When my zest for life returned, I studied Integrative Nutrition in order to delve deeper into principles of wellness. I began working with women on their own health journeys and it was only then that I felt truly capable of supporting our child. We focused on traditional healing foods, as well as other modalities, and experienced incredible progress, including relief from eczema, chronic immune dysfunction and a number of food allergies and sensitivities.

Due to my deep passion for supporting mothers, I later completed studies to become a Certified Seasons of Matrescence® Guide with Nikki McCahon to provide the best possible support for women and mothers in their matrescence and wellbeing journeys.

I specialise in working with women and mothers who are highly sensitive. Highly sensitive women feel things deeply and require support that is gentle, authentic and understanding in its approach.

I believe mothers are the hearts of their families and communities. With adequate support and guidance, every woman has the ability to thrive through life and each season of motherhood. Ensuring mothers are properly nourished, connected and supported at every stage means healthier and happier individuals, families and communities.
